General description of the files command :

At any time during a DESL session, via issuance of "files", the current list of files which have been created thus far can be displayed. The display will give the file names, the file types, the name of the DESL command which produced each file, and the file fates with respect to the next "cleanup" execution.

Sample "files" report :

Additionally, via issuance of



f(iles) l(ists) (list_name(s))


the list of currently defined file name lists or the contents of the desired file name list(s) can be displayed .

The contents of list file "flist1" :

1 gen1 2 gen2 3 gen3

The contents of list file "flist2" :

1 gen4 2 gen5 3 gen6 4 gen7 5 gen8 6 gen9

It is also possible to clear one or more previously created file name lists. Via issuance of



f(iles) l(ists) clear list_name(s)


the mentioned file name lists will be eliminated
