BD) Details concerning the DESL
large command.Toggles DESL input model. By default (large "on") each blank-delimited item contained in an input argument list for a DESL function is held in a FILE buffer which can hold, virtually, an infinite number of such items. The number of items which can be entered is only limited by the maximum number of items which can be specified for any particular option. If the input model is MEMORY, which would be in effect if "large off" was entered, or if the FILE buffer state was toggled, the TOTAL number of items which can be entered for the command is 500. Items entered beyond this limit are ignored. The MEMORY buffer model will inherently achieve better performance than the i/o bound FILE buffer model. The difference in performance, though, is usually negligible. The current input model is in effect until changed.
