General description of the log command :

Toggles state of DESL logging capability. (See "status" command report.) When logging is "on" all pertinent DESL I/O is logged onto a file called "log#.dsl". This file is available after the DESL session for viewing/use. If "log" is followed by "on" or "off" then that named state is enforced, regardless of the current logging state. If the log state is "off" there is still a minimum amount of information which is written to the log file. If, at the end of the DESL session, there are 4 or fewer lines written to the log, as would be the case if logging had been turned off immediately after beginning a DESL session, no log file is produced. Previously, a log file would be produced regardless of the number of lines it might contain, even if, a DESL session, logging was immediately turned off.
