(See example(s) of the use of the filesuffix command.)
[Jump to the list of available options.]
General description of the filesuffix command :

Sets or clears the suffix to be appended to EVERY new file generated during the execution of DESL.

If "filesuffix" is followed on the same line by NO other fields the implication is that any currently active file suffix is to be cleared; no suffix is to be added to new files generated.

If "filesuffix" is followed on the same line by one or more expressed or implied strings, the new file suffix will be composed of that concatenated sequence of characters.

Expressed strings are enclosed in double quotes. The only implied string is the process ID number (pid) number for the current DESL execution. The string pid can be followed, itself, by a value. This value can be positive or negative. A positive value, #, implies that the # least significant digits of the pid number are to be used for pid. A negative value, -#, implies that exactly # digits are to be used for pid, even if this means having to insert leading 0's in the pid number. Following the pid string with no number, implies the use of the whole pid value, regardless of the number of digits, still accounting, however, for the maximum file name length.
