ViGYAN, Inc. was established in 1979 in Hampton, Virginia with an initial emphasis on providing aerospace research and development services to the NASA-Langley Research Center. We have expanded our business areas to include aeronautics R&D, scientific, engineering, and business software development, and computer technology support. We are an SBA- certified minority-owned, small disadvantaged business (SDB); ViGYAN was the NASA 1987 Minority Contractor of the Year. ViGYAN also has a regional office in Columbia, Maryland. Our customers include both Federal civilian agencies, DoD, and corporate clients.

Engineering Services

ViGYAN employees are involved in the operations and technical support of research activities of NASA Langley. Tasks are currently active on separate contracts involving the disciplines of aeronautics, facility operations, flight systems, and instrumentation systems. The types of research conducted involve a wide variety of disciplines including computational fluid dynamics (CFD); spaceflight systems design and analysis; wind tunnel test techniques and data quality; video documentation and signal processing; aircraft model flight testing, tracking, telemetry, and control systems; flight control systems and flight simulation; computer control and data acquisition systems; and computer-based database applications for test data storage, retrieval, analysis and retrieval. Our professional staff reflects a mix of Ph.D's, M.S., B.S., and Associate degrees.

ViGYAN provides training and support for the TetrUSS, Tetrahedral Unstructured-grid Software System (the 1996 NASA Software of the Year).

Wind Tunnel Services

ViGYAN, Inc. provides both technical expertise and an experimental facility for use with respect to wind tunnel testing. It's low speed facility can handle small 3-D models and perform data acquisition of both force and pressure data.

Technical support for in variety of experimental or operational environments is also available.

ViGYAN operations also include the ViGYAN Low Speed Wind Tunnel in support of internal research programs and for government and commercial customers. Staffing of the facility includes engineers, model builders and technicians, and instrumentation/data acquisition and reduction specialists. Associated wind tunnel activities include data acquisition system products as well as testing support for the Old Dominion University Langley Full Scale Tunnel (LFST).

Information Technology

ViGYAN, Inc. provides support for a broad range of activities normally classified as existing in the area of Information Technology. Computer services and support, internet services and its subsidiary, The Neighborhood Computer Store are but a few of these activities.

The Computer Technology Division provides a complete range of computer maintenance and repair services (on site or at customer locations). This also includes network installation and support, and system administration for desktop, high-end workstations, and web servers. We also provide website development and hosting services. Customers include commercial businesses as well as government organizations. Retail services and products are available at our The Neighborhood Computer Store location in nearby York County.

Application Software

ViGYAN, Inc. has developed application software which is useful in a variety of situations, from engineering analysis to in-cockpit displays.

Vigyan continues to upgrade most of its software as better methods and increased capabilities become available.

ViGYAN's software activities include the DESL data analysis and presentation package, the Data Management and Analysis System (DMAS), and the Pilot Weather Advisor^TM. ViGYAN also provides e-commerce and business software systems products and services.
