ViGPLOT is an interactive, menu-driven scientific visualization post-processing software for the manipulation and display of computational fluid dynamic data. ViGPLOT can read 2-D and 3-D data from a variety of sources including unstructured (tetrahedral) and structured (single & multi-blocked) CFD grids and solutions as well as experimental data. Its capabilities include surface plots of grid, solution contours and velocity vectors, ability to interpolate data on arbitrary user defined planes and field options of particle traces and stream ribbon plots. A built-in calculator lets a user manipulate scalar data. ViGPLOT's animation capability helps produce display quality graphics while its volume rendering algorithm facilitates a quick and simple feature extraction from a 3-D flow field.
ViGPLOT was developed under a SBIR program for the U.S. Air Force. Currently versions are available for SALE by ViGYAN, as it is the company's property for three years under the SBIR agreement. Only executables are available for sale. Both SGI (IRIX 4.0.5 or greater) and IBM/RS 6000 (AIX 3, Release 2 and above) versions are available. Groups that have or are using this software or its precursor include the aerospace and automotive industry, Government (Air Force and NASA) and academic institutions.
